  • VisualPro AI innovatively supports the 4 steps according to the STPA guidelines as follows:
Step 1: Define Purpose of the Analysis
The AI analyzes system manuals or requirements to automatically identify and propose core Losses, system-level Hazards, and System Constraints. The AI also reviews potential edge cases that might be missed.
Step 2: Model the Control Structure
Based on the system operation described in natural language, the AI categorizes controllers, actuators, sensors, and controlled processes to automatically generate a Control Structure Diagram. Complex feedback loops and Control Actions can be visually constructed rapidly.
Step 3: Identify Unsafe Control Actions, UCA
Based on the generated control actions, the AI applies 4 guidewords (Not provided, Provided incorrectly, Provided too early/late, Applied too long/short) to derive all possible UCAs. It reduces analysis time by filtering core UCAs directly linked to system Hazards out of thousands of combinations.
Step 4: Identify Loss Scenarios
The AI writes specific scenarios on why the identified UCAs occur, whether due to flaws in the control loop (sensor errors, algorithm bugs) or external factors. Furthermore, it automatically suggests safety constraints and Countermeasures to mitigate each scenario.
